Awaken me.

Not with your hands

that are as cold as ice,

But the warmth of your heart

The only warmth I’ve ever known.

Take me far away

from where and what we know

To someplace that will confuse both of us

But will give us the sapling

that we both need

Speak your words like they’re poetry,

And I’ll listen to them like they’re music

Dance with me if you can,

And tell me if you can feel the rhythm

Me and you, we’re marble and coal

I’m still pondering whether to step

into the shadows or the light for you,

And it may take me the eternity to decide.
