I just finished listening to Stoned at the Nail Salon by Lorde

I wasn’t crying, but I was very emotional.

Hearing her voice layered alongside the beautiful guitar riff,

I felt simultaneously at home and in a different universe

I think that’s what I feel about you.

Lorde tells us how times will change,

And the music you love at sixteen, you’ll grow out of

And I agree with her.

Some of life seem endless, some seem to be here for the evening

Either way, you don’t truly know what will stay or go.

Life is short.

The unexpected is expected to happen,

And too many questions that question yourself to answer which ones

But I know I love you.

I know I want to wake up knowing you’re mine forever ever day,

I want to make smiley pancakes with our kids,

And I want to grow old with you,

For as long as we can.

Although there’s so many things that change in life,

full of mystery and doubt, so many things to be unexpected

I want to still spend every moment I have with you as long as I can.

You’re truly my love, even if I seem off or doubting.

You are my world, forever and always.

Hopefully you feel the same, truly.

I would like to be yours.
